Those sweet details. So fleeting.

Motherhood changes you in the most beautiful ways, but something I have found true for myself, between the endless nighttime feeds, the piles of laundry, having to divide my time between my new babe, my partner, other children, chores around the house, jobs, and even time for myself, is how much I have forgotten those precious details of a newborn baby.

The way their hair smells, the sweet dots on their nose, nursing blisters on their lips, their flakey hands and feet, their hairy ears and shoulders, and even for some those adorable little back rolls. Everyone will tell you when your babies are little, how much you’ll miss this stage, and between sleepless nights and well, just trying to get through the day, we often forget to soak up the very first memories that we take in of them.

Miss Harper had some of the most PRECIOUS detail shots. She even has a sweet little birthmark on her knee that I just had to capture for her parents. As she grows so will her birthmark. Her hair will get longer, her baby rolls and chubby cheeks will fade as her face becomes older, the dots on her nose will disappear, the flakey skin that just screams “new” will be gone, the sweet toes that once could fit in her mothers hands will soon fit into shoes for her to take off running and playing. DONT miss these opportunities to cherish the smallest things that once made up your entire world.
